[영문법] 품사 - 수식어Modifier 의 종류와 쓰임 

 

형용사 Adjectives

- Ad-: to, on, toward + -jective: to throw ⇒ Thrown on / Thrown on top of something

- Modifiers

- Change Stuff 

- Discribe Stuff

- ther words we use to modify nouns

 

관사 Article

- a/an, the

- Determiner

- Specific or non specific

 

정관사와 부정관사 Definite and indefinite articles

정관사 define article 

the

- define article 

- specific 

- singluar / plural 

부정관사 indefinite article 

 a/an 

- non specific

- singluar (plural : some)

- a:  begins with a consonant sounds

- an:when the w begins with a vowel sounds

⇒It's not about letter, it's about sounds

ex) a box, an apple,

cf) a union, a unicorn(u: yuh), an underwater boat(u: uh), an NBA player(N:ehn)

an herb, an heirloom, an hour

 

부사 Adverbs

- Ad-: to, on, toward + verbs: action words ⇒ Thrown on / Thrown on top of something

- modify everything that isn't a noun

modify verbs and adjectives

- tend to have form as adjective + -ly

 

관계부사 Relative Adverbs

- where: place, when, while: time, why: reasons

Ex)  This is the house where I grew up.

 

형용사의 순서 Adjective Order

  1. Determiner : the/an
  2. Opinion : cool
  3. Size : big
  4. Age : old
  5. Shape : square
  6. Color : black
  7. Origin : texan
  8. Material : leather
  9. Purpose : riding 

- 암기법: Dosa scomp

ex) French old white house

- Two coordinate adjectives (from the same category) → to be separed with comma(,) or and

A mushy, sticky apple vs. A mushy green apple

 

비교급과 최상급 형용사 Comparative and Superlative Adjectives

- Comparative ⇒ more

- Superlative ⇒ most
